is a Japanese actor, who was born in Tsuyama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.


Career
Commonly known just as Odajō, and also known for unusual hairstyle and eclectic style of dressing, he is the epitome of 'cool Japan' known as much for his persona as his work. He has starred in such films as the Katsuhiro Otomo-directed live-action movie adaptation of the manga and anime series, Mushishi, where he was featured as the main character, Ginko, as well as other well-known films such as Shinobi: Heart Under Blade.
He is also well known by much of the tokusatsu fandom in his starring role as Yūsuke Godai from Kamen Rider Kuuga. Odagiri has expressed on multiple occasions his difficulty playing the role however.
Joe Odagiri also starred in Japanese TV drama "Satorare- tribute to a sad genius"
Odagiri Joe is also very famous due to his portrayal of Bijomaru Mogami (the villain of Azumi movie), and has many fans in Brazil.

Personal life
He applied to the California State University, Fresno, to study Film Directing, but enrolled as a student of the Theater and Arts Department by mistake.
He often says that Fresno is his second homeland.
On December 27, 2007, Odagiri announced his engagement to actress Yuu Kashii, 20, at a news conference in Tokyo.
